Teva Pharmaceutical Industries announced on 18 October 2010 that it had received FDA approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application for its generic version of Takeda's Prevacid (lansoprazole) SoluTab.

The Israeli generics’ giant has been granted permission to market the drug in the US, and shipment of the medication has already commenced.
Lansoprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor, is used to treat and prevent stomach and intestinal ulcers by lowering the amount of stomach acid produced by the body.
Annual sales of Prevacid were estimated to be US$453 million in the US, according to IMS sales data.
